We need your help!

We have been very fortunate to have such an able and dedicated Green keeper and Garden team over the last few years. Our Green is regularly rated as one of the top ones in the County and our ground the best kept and nicest too. 

They have had many challenges such as the hot weather, the fox etc which they have dealt with superbly. There are challenges however, that even they cannot conquer, primarily, time. At the end of this season the teams have been virtually reduced to half with people retiring or cutting hours due to age and other issues. 

So we need volunteers. You don’t need any experience and any training can be given onsite. What we need is commitment of a morning or maybe two a week. Or to commit to a certain task in the garden. Training will be given, there’s a great comradery, tea, coffee and biscuits and lots of banter. 

This is an incredibly important part of our Club and we now need an injection of some new blood. 

To engage outside help would be so costly. We know of several clubs who do this, are not satisfied and have had to increase membership fees significantly. We also know of one or two Clubs who may be folding over this issue. So we don’t see this as an option. 

On Sunday (20th September), on a fine autumn afternoon, Ware Bowling Club brought the curtain down on our 2026 centenary summer bowling season with an internal captain's friendly match as per attached picture. We now have the long winter months ahead of us before we can look forward 2027,  when outdoor bowling at our club resumes in April.
